iPod Nano 死翹翹

I was spring cleaning and happened to dig out my relatively new iPod nano mp3 player which I have only used 三次。So I decided to make full use of it. But guess what? The battery cannot be charged!!! But if you power it by computer or electricity, it can run. So what is the use of a iPod nano if it is not mobile anymore? I never expect Apple product is that lousy. Easily dead. Lucky it is a free gift. If I spend money on it, I will jump!! That is why I always said Apple is 好看不好吃。

讓人驚嘆的 Music Software

Have you ever had such experience that you heard of a song somewhere and desperately trying to find out the name of this song? 救星 is here! I have come across two song recognition software which 能幫助你。They are Shazam and Midomi. Both have window mobile based version and you can easily installed in your handphone. Whenever you hear a nice song which you dunno the name, just run your application over your data plan, grab the song and have it analyzed to return you the name of the song and who sings it. The 準確率 is quite high! Amazing! Go try it.

So this time round where did we go? 和上次一樣﹐we rented a car as this is the easiest way to explored Langkawi.


Eagle Square
Dataran Lang (Eagle Square) is the first sight that greets you when you arrive at Langkawi island by the sea. Dataran Lang has a huge sculpture of an eagle poised proudly facing the sea, welcoming you to this mystical island.


Air Terjun Temurun
The Temurun waterfalls are conveniently located in the Mat Cincang Nature Park of Datai, offering the ‘hot’ visitor refreshing waters from the mountains.


Durian Perangin Falls
This waterfall is located on the northern slope of Gunung Raya, the highest mountain of Langkawi.


Pantai Pasir Hitam
Pantai Pasir Hitam or Black Sand Beach is a mixture of black sand and normal sand. Unlike other black-sand beaches which might be due to iron oxide.


Kuah Town
Kuah is the capitol of this island and is bustling with activities. Kuah Town has many duty free shops which you can buy local products and have nice good food.


Pasar Malam
Pasar Malam or night market is a place where all the locals gather, selling daily use goods and local Malay foods. This kind of night market is available 5 nights a week but in deferent locations such as Kuah Town, Kedawang, Ulu Melaka, Air Hangat, Padang Matsirat. The largest night market which I went is held in Kuah Town every Saturday and Wednesday at 7.00pm to 11.00pm.

Langkawi 走一走: 上

In less than a year, I am back in 浮羅交怡 。This time round I went with my family for tour. As there are kids around, I suggested this place cos it is just a short flight plus we can drive around ourselves and stay in resorts which the kids will like.

How we go?
We took Malaysia Airline like last time.


Where we stay?
This time round we stay at Holiday Villa Beach Resort & Spa Langkawi. This hotel is located at Pantai Tengah area which is about 10-15 mins drive from airport. But it is about 20 mins walk to the main hype of the Pantai Tengah. So it is at a more quiet location. But there are a mini mart just opposite the hotel that you can get your basic needs and also rent a car. A few mins down the road will lead you to spa and more restaurants. The beach at this hotel is also quite nice.

I was given a room on level one. The room is quite big. I did a rough measurement. Should be around 30sqm. The bed is comfortable. But the aircon seems not working. No matter what temp I set, I feel the room is of the same coldness. There is a back door leading to a pond which I do not dare to open as I saw many bugs flying around. Also not to mention my room has tonnes of mosquitoes!! I think I have managed to kill at least 20 throughout my stay!! But my family in another room said they encounter only 1 or 2. The toilet shower head is too low and it does not provide a disposable toothbrush.

The staffs are on the whole are helpful. But dun expect them to greet or smile at you while passing by. The staffs over at the restaurant seems to smile more. Check in and out is rather fast. Calling a cab is easy and fast too at this hotel. The breakfast variety is limited and not really fantastic. Some of the food are also a bit cold.

The swimming pool and jacuzzi seems nice though I did not use it.

含蓄 Sex and the City 2

Sex and The City 2 continues the first movie where it ended. Carrie is leading a boring married life. Samantha is facing menopause. Miranda is unhappy with her job. Charlotte is wary of her nanny. Then, Samantha has a great lobang to Abu Dhabi for 4 for free! So the show mainly shows their sheer luxury life in Abu Dhabi and at the same time brings out the problem each faced. This time round, the “大人” scenes are much more 含蓄 than episode one. Overall, the show is still fun but not as good as the first.

新玩兒 Motorola Milestone XT

I am very into Google Android lately as it is the next best thing besides Apple IOS4. But I am only looking at something below $200. Then, good thing comes along. I came across a Starhub road show at Suntec City. Discount after discount, I get the phone for $198!! They even throw in a $50 shopping voucher. So effectively, the phone is $148! They even throw in a docking station (~$40) and leather case (at least S$10?).

Curry 豬腸粉

There is a new eating place opened in West Mall. It is something like Old Town Cafe which sells Kopi and Laksa. I saw a food item call curry 豬腸粉 and decided to give it a shot. The curry is those normal chicken curry type and add to the 豬腸粉。Though both things are nothing new, the overall 口感 is not bad.

PC Show 碰上世界杯

This year PC Show 碰上 World Cup. I am not sure if World Cup 效應﹐PC show at the evening time is rather empty! I wun say there is nobody but compared to previous computer fare, the number of people is greatly lesser. There are more walking spaces and escalator is less packed. So the anti recession PC Show this time finally 碰到克星了。

Samsung colour laser prints 出我的色彩

Due to some uses, I needed to purchase a colour printer. I not willing to buy a ink jet type as I find them 落伍。Haa.. So I decided to get a laser colour printer. But I do not wish to fork out more than $200 for it as I seldom use it. Haa.. It is really 頭痛﹗Well, what do you know? Good luck strikes~~ My brother got a good lobang and got me Samsung CLP-315 colour laser printer for less than $200!! Haa... However, the laser toner is not cheap. One printer needs 4 toners and each cost over $60! Combine and they even more ex than my printer! So I have to 省着點用。Haa..

One RU-IN 婚禮

I have attended a 婚禮 but this is a special 婚禮. It is a RUssian + INdian wedding. They joked and called it RUIN. Joke aside, it is held in a nice condo and besides a swimming pool. We have Indian food and witness a romantic wedding. Let me wish them 早生貴子。

Hail the queen 敗犬女王

I have been chasing 敗犬女王 lately as TV is showing this rather old show. I have on and off caught it over cable but this time round I have followed it closely. This show is really nice. 阮經天 is really lucky to always get cast in such a good show. But the 大功臣 I feel have to be 楊謹華 as her acting is really thumbs up!! Natural performance really makes me glued to this show. I feel most romantic and touching scenes are not reserved for 阮經天 but 溫升豪 which is a shame. Coupled with nice theme songs, this show is a winner.
