Star Awards 2012 Postmortem

I feel the awards generally are ok with the exception of Joanne Peh winning best actress. I feel she won cos Mediacorp wants to 捧 her. I have seen all performance. The weaker two are actually Rui En and her. The rest are actually have a stronger performance. Well, it is just a game.

Happy New Year 2012!!!

Wishing you a very happy new year!!

Can see that this year not many overseas artistes attend. That is why I guess this year award winners mainly focus giving out to local artistes instead. Some results so unconvincing.

The Lion King Musical

I have gone down Marina Bay Sands to see The Lion King Musical. The costume, singing and props are quite good. But they shine the spot light into audience eyes three times which I find it disturbing and irritating. They also try to inject some local humor which some might find it weird. Things like :"I tot I saw Merlion", "HDB upgrading". Also they input some mandarin 臺詞 such as "謝謝﹐鼓勵。" The show I feel is a bit long at around 2h 15 mins. Of cos, the final highlight of this event is to buy myself some Lion King souvenir. Haa!!

There is a promotion lately. If you subscribe 早報, you can get gifts plus a 10% discount in subscription rate. Why not since my family reads 早報。The gift I got is a camcorder. It is a pretty simple camcorder. I all along wanted to buy a simple camcorder for fun. But just that I dun wish to pay for one. Ha...

Today I will start my blog again. Quite a lot of things happened for the past 6 months plus prompted me to take a break. Now I am back.... My 回归之作 will be my trip to Bali. Look out for it.

Winners vs My Prediction

The winner list is out and let me see if my prediction is accurate.

So 命中率 is 80%. Ha.. Any way, I am not using 誰來誰得獎 policy. That is why I did not predict 最佳演绎男歌手奖 correctly. If not, it will be 100%.

I miss it....

Jeff 終於 comes here to 舉辦 his concert and guess what! I cannot go today as I am still in Shanghai!

I have a portfolio in my company which I held for 2 years. After holding on this position for 2 years, I decided it is time to let go. This portfolio is really too time consuming! I have no time to focus on other things. My boss finally let me go and gave me a 名牌 cake for 答謝我的貢獻。Haa!! The cake is a mango cake from Bakerzin and it tastes great!!

Happy

Today is my blog 五週年。Happy birthday!!

Music Software

Have you ever had such experience that you heard of a song somewhere and desperately trying to find out the name of this song? 救星 is here! I have come across two song recognition software which 能幫助你。They are Shazam and Midomi. Both have window mobile based version and you can easily installed in your handphone. Whenever you hear a nice song which you dunno the name, just run your application over your data plan, grab the song and have it analyzed to return you the name of the song and who sings it. The 準確率 is quite high! Amazing! Go try it.

Motorola Milestone XT

I am very into Google Android lately as it is the next best thing besides Apple IOS4. But I am only looking at something below $200. Then, good thing comes along. I came across a Starhub road show at Suntec City. Discount after discount, I get the phone for $198!! They even throw in a $50 shopping voucher. So effectively, the phone is $148! They even throw in a docking station (~$40) and leather case (at least S$10?).

贊:
1. Good metal finish
2. Size
3. 8MP camera
4. HDMI port
5. Android 2.1

彈:
1. Only 150MB phone storage
2. Slightly laggy
3. Touchscreen not sensitive

This year PC Show 碰上 World Cup. I am not sure if World Cup 效應﹐PC show at the evening time is rather empty! I wun say there is nobody but compared to previous computer fare, the number of people is greatly lesser. There are more walking spaces and escalator is less packed. So the anti recession PC Show this time finally
