無敵海景 at Star Cruise （一）

This is the first time I have taken a cruise. This time I board on Star Virgo for a 4D3N trip to Penang and Phuket at cruise center at harbourfront.

我愛 HTC

I wanted to get a new handset as my current handset is a bit crazy. Actually I wanted very much to get an iPhone. But luckily HTC HD2 is launched in time and made me “懸崖勒馬”﹗It has a very good launched price and I immediately went to Starhub roadshow to get it. I love it!

Light switch sticker 好玩

I bought an interesting thing to beautify my home light switch. It is a sticker that is about the same size as the light switch. Just a bit of DIY and viola, it is done. A little thing to 美化 the house a little. Haha..

Swissotel 盡享無敵景色

I have booked a room in Swissotel The Stamford as there is a promotion going on. This is the 2nd time in my life that I have stayed in a local hotel. The view is simply fantastic! You get to see the beautiful scene of Marina Bay. The 賭場 looks 70% done and the view will be even more fantastic once it is ready. But I guess the price of the room will 水漲船高 at that time!

自行遊 at JB City Square

I have never taken a public transport to City Square to 新山 before as I always heard of 恐怖 stories like robberies, thieves etc.. But with the new CIQ in JB, I am more willing to travel to City Square as it is just opposite the new CIQ. Very easy to access and best of all, now it is much safer as there is a bridge that links CIQ to City Square. So 匪徒應該不敢在太歲頭上動土吧﹗Generally, there are many eateries and the price is cheaper. But the apparels are comparable and not cheap if there are no sales. Now I will frequent City Square for the food and movies.

早來的 Christmas present: LG Digital Frame

I have gotten my first 聖誕節 present. It is by Best Denki. I signed up their credit card lately and got a free LG digital frame model F7010S. I always wanted to get one but feel it is a waste of money. One of this gadget easily cost $100. But now I got it for free! Great!

衝動購物(二) : Samsung Blu-ray Player

I am thinking of getting a Blu-ray player as I have a Blu-ray disc. 哈哈哈﹗But I have been putting it off as I feel I have no time to watch. I am looking at LG as it has many good reviews and 衝動 wanted to buy. However, it is at $399 so I held back. I walking around last day at Sitex and saw a booth selling Samsung Blu-ray player BD-P1600 at $259. It got good reviews also and all the features 我要都有。Then, the sales guy told me he can sell me at $250!! 簡直難以置信﹗So in the end, you guessed it. I bought it.

The Twilight Saga: New Moon 沉悶無聊

I have never watched the Twilight first episode and never read the book. I only know there are vampires and werewolves. Naturally, I thought it is a exciting monsters movie. But who knows The Twilight Saga: New Moon actually is a chick flick. The whole movie is moving extremely slowly. It is basically the lead actress 談情說愛 with little action. Half time the show, I started to 抓狂﹗So if you are not into romance, stay away from this show. Strictly for fans only.

I finally bought a portable media player after putting it off for about 1 year. I have been telling myself to 冷靜 and dun be 衝動。But finally I saw a product with a right price and so I finally bought it. It is Aigo MP5910A portable player.

Latest 愛好: 做手機電影

I always wanted to turn my mobile phone into a device that allows me to watch movie. Only until lately, I learnt how to get the right encoding, format, resolution etc.. for my Nokia E90. It is now a breeze to load movies into my mobile. Now my phone is truly a multimedia 智慧手機﹗哈哈哈﹗

Online application 不如當場 application

I wanted to apply a free account for me to access the internet in campus. So I apply online which I tot will be faster. Who knows there is a security 保護 and said they will mail me the security code to append to my password so I can use my account. After waiting for almost 2 weeks, I received nothing. So I gave up and go to the service center to change my password. Instantly, I can access. So sometimes you need to go down personally to get things done. Online might not be the fastest way.

2012: 天崩地裂﹗場面過癮﹗

2012 is Roland Emmerich's latest 災難大片﹗It talk about a massive solar flare caused the temperature of the Earth's core to increase rapidly and will cause end of world in 2012. So when disasters strike on the fateful date, the lead actor John Cusack 排除萬難 and bring their family to safety. The special effects are 一流﹗But the plot of John Cusack always manage to get their family to safety is 超誇張﹗He should die long ago. Haha. The show is also a bit long till times it becomes a bit draggy. But over all, I love the destroying.

"Usual price" is just 一場游戲

I have been seeing a lot of advertisement putting "usual price is xxx, now xxx". While some are real, many are fake! I have seen for past months, a blu-ray player is selling at $299. Then, I saw it one day, it advertise as "usual price is $499, now $299" making it as if a price drop of $200 now. So moral of story is 貨比三家 and followed the price even though you might not be buying any sooner. 留意平時價格 is also good is when you buy a product, you will know if this shop sells at higher price or not. Just like my Logitech mouse, I pay $3 more at Best as compared to Harvey Norman where I thought usually such brand has same pricing around.

My violin 崩潰﹗

I have a violin performance and it supposed to be a happy event. My team and I supposed to played 3 songs together and I will solo for the 4th song. But 人算不如天算﹗After months of preparation, my E-string broke while playing the 2nd song!! Ah!!! So end up I gave up playing after 2nd song. This time is really a "good experience". Haha! My friend told me I look calm throughout the whole saga. 哈哈哈﹗

M1 我支持你 Singtel 再見 Starhub 我來也

I have been with M1 since it started doing business in Singapore. 它的電話比別家貴 but I still stick with it. The main reason is their customer service is 一級棒﹗Whatever reasonable perks I try to ask for, they will try to 滿足, if not suggest alternatives unlike Singtel. Lately I asked for phone voucher again and they agree without any questions asked and no, mine plan is the cheapest plan. Singtel on the other hand is extremely stingy. So I will switch my 2nd line to Starhub which is another generous company once my contract is up in less than 2 months time.

My Girlfriend Is An Agent 搞笑一級棒

The Korean comedy My Girlfriend is an Agent - 7급 공무원 talks about a couple both are government spy and are not aware of each other identity. This movie is extremely nice. At the first you might brush it off as the Korean version of Mr and Mrs Smith. But trust me, it is more than that. This show is extremely funny and the lead actor, Ji-hwan Kang, is very comical like those in Japanese animation. This show also casts one of my favorite actress, Ha-Neul Kim. 值得捧場。

錯過 a very good deal!

I am kicking myself for missing out a very good handphone deal. Over the weekend where I was away, Starhub has a great promotion on HTC Touch HD. After all the discount. it is only $98! I went to several shops but all out of stock! 天意﹗I guess I have to buy the latest HTC HD2 then. 哈哈哈﹗

Langkawi 樸素又美麗 （三）

I really like Langkawi as it has many nice places to explore. I have rented a car at the hotel and it is 相當容易 to drive around there. Armed with a GPS and map, you can zip around Langkawi easily. The usual practice is to top up the fuel to full when you return the car. The interesting part is you need to pay before pumping the fuel. This is to stop you from running away without paying. Langkawi is a rather quiet city as compared to places like Phuket but I love it.


1. Beach
Langkawi has many nice beach resorts but my friend wanted to stay at Kuah Town area. But I feel that it is better to stay near the beach. There are a few beach resorts to select. It ranges from very high end such as The Datai to more affordable one such as Langkasuka Beach Resort. The Datai and The Andaman Langkawi have extremely beautiful views but 我嫌它們太遠﹗They are located about 45 mins drive from the airport and their surrounding are forests! Very exclusive (read: very inaccessible!) So I booked Meritus Pelangi Beach Resort & Spa. Their beach is not the best but it is quiet enough for me to enjoy the sun and sea breeze.


2. Langkawi Cable Car
The Langkawi cable car ride is one of the must visit places. It takes visitors all the way up to Mount Mat Cincang, Langkawi’s second highest peak at about 710m above sea level. The cable car 全長 2.2 公里。Towards the end of the ride, it has a 42° angle incline for a few hundred feet! This is the steepest moving angle for a cable car in the world! It has a really nice view looking out from the cable car. There are two base stations. So you can alight at the first one to take some pictures before proceeding to the second one.


3. Langkawi Sky Bridge
At the highest point, you can walk to the infamous Langkawi Sky Bridge. But the walking to the bridge is not simple. It has many flights of stairs and very steep. The sky bridge is a 125 metre curved pedestrian cable-stayed bridge. So it has no supporting structure below but having cables holding onto it from a pillar structure.


4. Telaga Tujuh Waterfalls and Air Terjun Temurun
From the cable car, we can see Telaga Tujuh Waterfalls (Seven Wells) and Air Terjun Temurun (Waterfalls). But going to the exact spot is not easy. It is again a long walk up slope and you need to climb many stairs!!


Telaga Tujuh Waterfalls referring to a collection of seven intertwined natural pools fed by seven separate waterfalls in Mount Mat Cincang. Locals claim that fairies reside in the area but tourists are more likely to find the flora around the water more magically appealing.


The Temurun waterfalls are conveniently located in the Mat Cincang Nature Park of Datai, offering the ‘hot’ visitor refreshing waters from the mountains. The waters cascade down a 30 m drop, forming a nice pool below which you can swim in.


5. Underwater World
I got a soft spot on aquarium. Whenever I went to some place and if I know there is an aquarium, I will go and visit. Although the Underwater World in Langkawi might have limited species, it is still very interesting to see the sea creatures swimming around.


6. Kuah Town
Kuah Town has many big shopping malls to explore if you are into shopping. It also house a night market operating at every Saturday night. There are also many eateries and shopping area for 土產 there too. I went to the Eagle square which has the famous Eagle statute but I went there at night and the light there is very dim. So it is better to go in the day to have a better view.
