Bangkok 越夜越美麗 （二）

我沒太多時間 to shop and sightseeing as my itinerary is very packed with meetings. The only time is after dinner and last day before getting on the plane. So where did I go, shop and see?

Bangkok 越夜越美麗 （一）

I was assigned to fly to Bangkok for a business trip. It had been years that I set foot on this place. I think should be 3 years ago! It is great to come back to 重溫 this place.

1. Air Line and Airport
I did not take SQ which I know many of my friends feel it is a waste. But the reason I took Thai Airway is because of the timing I want. Any way, it is a short trip. So SQ or not, I feel it is ok. Suvarnabhumi Airport is a huge airport! It really take me sometime to reach the customs. This time round, I feel it is much more efficient. I managed to clear the customs within mins!

2. Transport
I took a cab from the airport and it is quite affordable and fast. I heard that a new airport express train will be ready in August. So you can take a train from airport to downtown next time. Within my stay in Bangkok, I did not take the BTS like last time. I opt for taxi instead. The driver now are more willing to on the meter and the jam is much better.

3. Hotel
My Bangkok associate helped me booked Pathumwan Princess as it is closed to office. It is a 4 stars hotel and has been recently renovated. The rooms is big and facilities are very modern. Guess what? The bathroom to the sleeping room is separated just by a piece of see through glass! Good for couple. 不過﹐there is a controlled curtain to save your privacy. Lucky I stay alone. Ha! The location is very good! Just beside MBK and opposite many shopping areas! The staffs are also very professional and friendly. Thumbs up.

迎接 Tiger Year at 牛車水

虎年 is around the corner and one of the 最有過年氣氛 should be Chinatown (牛車水). The lighting is up and all the 吉祥物 are there. It is quite crowded with people 辦年貨 at last minute. So usually I will come to this place to 感受一下 the new year mood. 呵呵﹗

Starhub 切斷 my service

Lately I found out my internet and cable TV all cannot access. So I called up Starhub. They told me my service is suspended. I was shocked and tried to find out why. They told me I have outstanding bill. However, it is found that I have paid up 3 weeks ago! Then they still got the cheek to tell me there is a reconnecting fee of $15! 好搞笑﹗Of course I refused and 和他們講道理。Finally, they gave in to waive off. Terrible!

Shabu-Shi 種類不多﹐Service 很好

Shabu-Shi is a 一人一鍋 Japanese buffet and have four soup base to choose from. There is a conveyor belt like Sakae Sushi with all the food circulating. You just take the food you like and put them into the steamboat. The drinks are free flow plus ice cream. The variety of food is not that many and food wise is ok. But I like the service there. You get fast, prompt and friendly service.

Legion 可以再好

Legion talks about an archangel Michael being sent by God to destroy humanity. However, along the way, Michael changed his mind and decided to save mankind instead. The story plot sounds rather interesting. The movie also 營造很多恐怖氣氛。But I feel that it could be much better. Many parts are just senseless shooting. The characters can be further developed. I also dislike the ending. It is a good try but with many misses.

錦衣衛 Fighting scenes are 一流

Donnie Yen is the head of 錦衣衛 and during one mission, he was being betrayed by his 兄弟 (Qi Yuwu). Donnie managed to escape and try to complete his final mission. The story plot is nothing new but 我喜歡 the fighting moves. The flow of the movie is great as there are "mini boss" fights throughout the show which makes it not boring. Overall, well done.

可惜 CK Jeans Promotion

There is a sale going on and I saw a nice CK Jeans shirt. After all the discount, it is $105. I think and think but finally did not get. But when at home, I regret not buying. So a week later, I finally decide to get. 誰知道? Promotion over and the shirt also gone. Sob!!! So the moral of the story is "if you like something and can afford it, go get it."

Say Cheeze! 吃到笑口常開

Say Cheeze is a cafe style restaurant that sells food with lots of cheese. However, they also have little cheese food. I ordered the usual. A main and a soup come in a coconut. The food is rather tasty. But the thing 我喜歡 more is their service. It is prompt and friendly. The waiter will top up the ice water without asking. Overall, it is quite a nice experience.

Did You Hear About The Morgans? 情節一般

Did You Hear About The Morgans talks about a very successful couple on the verge of splitting up. However, they have witnessed a murder and forced to live together on a safe place under protection. This comedy love story is painfully slow. 笑話不好笑﹐情節沒起伏。Overall, it is not really what I expected. The casts are good but story is bad.

Really 忙瘋了﹗

This month really have many things waiting for me to do! Everything throw at me. They all thought I am 三頭六臂﹗But my friend said I should think on the bright side said 能者多勞﹗Ha! Well, I have my accept my fate then.

物超所值 at Tangs

My friend wanted to buy a ladies Burberry perfume at $131. The sales person said if buy above $220, we will get freebies that include:

• Burberry Brit Mens
• Burberry Teddy Bear
• Roxy Ladies
• Cosmetic Box
• Tote Bag

After listening, she bought another $131 since she used perfume quite fast. Ha.. Then, when we were paying, the cashier told us if buy above $368, we can redeem a 人月牌鮑魚。Since we are only $108 short, we decided to get something. She ends up telling me that she actually wanted to get Issey Miyake perfume. It cost $121 and if throw in another $29, can get Issey Miyake Mens! So end up we bought a whole lot of perfume. But I am the winner cos the mens perfume are all quite cheap. As I am using Tangs Citibank card, I got 10% rebate, free parking at Tangs and a MAC lipstick! Really something.

“跌破” Spectacles

My current 眼鏡 is about 2 years plus and the screw is a bit loose. I always tightened it myself. But 終於 it gives way and my spectacles 1 becomes 2! But luckily, I got a spare one and quickly send my broken specs to 眼鏡店搶救﹗Finally, it 撿回一條命。呵呵﹗So I can still use it.

Happy New Year! 迎接 2010 年

Happy New Year 2010!!!! My new year resolution is to exercise more! Ha! 減肥﹗

倒數 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.......

In a moment, we will be welcoming 2010! But I am not going to squeeze in Orchard Road to 倒數。I will be going to a friend house to do my countdown and have some wine. Ha! Sounds like 妙手人心﹗

Ninja Gaiden II 再現風雲

Ninja Gaiden is one of the best Xbox games I have played in recent years. So when Ninja Gaiden II is out, 我自然不會放過。Just that game are too expensive and I always 下不了手。I happened to pass by a shop and I am lucky or what. It is selling for $39! Of cos, I quickly bought it and now I am the proud owner. But again, I will be frustrated cos this game is the same as the first: very hard to play! Ha!

十月圍城 Not too bad

十月圍城 talks about a group of people with different motives come together to protect 孫中山 from being assassinate. The story plot is rather interesting and got some 大牌客串 in this show. The first part of the show mainly built up the characters and story. So it is a bit slow. The movie only picks up when the protection starts. Overall, this movie is a breath of fresh air from all the 古裝 war show.

Avatar 特效刺激你的感官

Avatar is a science fiction movie that combines animation and human actor. It talks about human race is trying to invade an alien planet due to its rich resources. Sam Worthington is recruited to complete the invading mission through avatar. However, he falls for the alien princess and help them against human invasion. The story is simple and 沒新鮮感。But the special effects and animation are great. I dun dare to catch the 3D version as I have motion sickness. So if you are not like me, I strongly recommend to watch it in 3D. I think it should be 全新體驗。The avatar for Sigourney Weaver looks just like her. I think this 角色是為她量身訂做﹗

無敵海景 at Star Cruise （四）

The next stop is Phuket. This time round the ship is parked at a distance away and we need to take a small boat out to the shore. Same as in 賓城, all the taxi drivers 蜂擁而來 once they see us. So we bargain a bit and finally got into a pickup type taxi. The taxi driver brought us to buy 蜜糖 and 土產 as this is how he earns commission.We did buy a few things. Then, we proceed to the shopping mall at Patong beach - Jungceylon. We had our lunch and have great dessert there. After a quick round of shopping, we took the small boat back to our ship.

無敵海景 at Star Cruise （三）

The cruise first stop is at Penang. We alighted at the port and just walked out. All the taxi drivers 蜂擁而來﹗Very competitive. We have 9 people. So we need a car that we can squeeze in at one go. So finally we got into a taxi that can sit 7. Yes, we squeezed everyone in. Ha! We went to Gurney Plaza and the first thing that came to my mind is must visit A&W! This restaurant is history in Singapore but is alive and kicking in Malaysia. So I always go for Root Beer float there. After a quick shopping, we were on our way back to the ship. But going back, we split into two cabs as we could not find a big one.

無敵海景 at Star Cruise (二)

Taking cruise is some sort of 增肥團 ﹗You can get to eat day in day out for free!!

1. At 7am to 8am, coffee and light snack on highest deck. 邊吃邊看日出。

2. As 9am to 10am, morning tea break.

3. At 11am to 1pm, lunch.

4. At 3pm to 4pm, afternoon tea break.

5. 5pm to 7pm, dinner.

6. 12am to 1am, supper.

There are also many eateries place that costs money. So if you are hungry at 4am, you still can get food but you need to pay.
