清明時節雨紛紛 Tomb Sweeping Day

The once a year 清明節 is here. My family and I will 環島追追追 on this day as we need to pay respect to our ancestors in three different places. The first will be at 萬里火化場。Then, we need to go to 斐龍山 followed by 林厝港墳地。It usually need a whole day to visit these places. I quite like 清明節 as it allows me to know about my ancestors. This also give my family a chance to be together for a whole day as a family outing.

新衣裳 Leather casing for my LG

I was lately looking high and low for my new LG phone a covering. It is a fight between a leather casing and a silicone casing. At first I prefer the silicone casing, but leather casing got a more 專業人士 feel. So in the end, I lead towards the leather casing. But I am still wondering if I made a correct choice. 不買都買了。So I have to appreciate it.

老掉牙 But 緊湊的 Race To Witch Mountain

I know of people actually thought Race To Witch Mountain talks about fantasy movie which involves magical power. Well, they are half right? It actually a story of a pair of alien siblings (which looks like human and have super power) crashed landed onto Earth. Their mission is to find an item that can save Earth from invaded by their own kind. The story is a bit 老掉牙 but luckily 勝在 the story flows. You will not feel bored by the speed of the movie. However, get prepared to expect predictable story plot and B-grade special effects. Though say that, it is still quite a watchable show.

My New 手機 LG Viewty KU990R

My old mobile phone Sony Ericsson K770i is going history as the keypad is having problem. As a replacement phone for my 2nd line, I do not want to spend too much money and hope to get a value for money phone. Here comes LG Viewty KU990R! Singtel online store is selling for only $48! 可说是价廉物美！Best of all, it fits my criteria! At least a 5MP phone, a touchscreen phone and costs less than $100. I bought the white one and it looks really great!

I am a 病貓

I have been sick for the past 4 days. Initially is sore throat, then slowly become flu. Finally, it changes to cough. This cough is really persistent! I have tried eating 琵琶膏 and some cough syrup from pharmacy. But still no use. Until I try Woods cough syrup, my cough lessen a bit. Finally, I tried a 神奇 cough mixture, I am cured after drinking 2 times! But until now I dun dare to anyhow eat things. I think I will try to eat lightly for another 2 weeks. 呵呵﹗

Glass "Exploded"! 恐怖經驗

I ordered a cup of 茶烏 and a bowl of 魚粥 for my lunch at a coffee shop. While eating halfway, the cup of 茶烏 suddenly "exploded" in front of me!! I was shocked and my trousers is drenched with 茶烏﹗The shattered glass flew around and some landed in my 魚粥﹗The coffee shop owner quickly comes and picks up the glass. The waiter cleans the table and mops the floor. Then, I was offered a new bowl of 魚粥 but they did not offered me a new cup of 茶烏。But I still 心有餘悸。So even they offered me a new cup of 茶烏, I dunno if I dare to drink. But 不幸中的大幸﹐I was not hurt. 謝天謝地﹗

IT Show: 空手而歸

IT Show 2009 is here again. As usual, I always like to go on the last day to take a look. I have nothing in mind this time round. I just company my girlfriend to buy her laptop. She is eyeing on Asus. As compared to previous computer fair, this time round I find there are more people. Maybe due to recession, more people come to fair to 撿便宜貨。I wanted to see the latest Asus 24" LCD monitor. Guess what? The sales person told me all Asus LCD monitors are sold out on the first day of the show. 簡直是瘋狂﹗In the end, I went home empty handed. Haha. I guess I have to wait till June.

MOF 甜品

I have been walking past many MOF restaurants but always did not get a chance to go in and eat. Finally, I got a chance to venture into this is a Japanese restaurant which their specialty is in ice cream. There are many 口味 but I prefer their sesame ice cream. Mocha 綠茶 flavour is also
nice.

K Box: 卡拉永遠OK

I have not been to karaoke for a long time. My friend suddenly 心血來潮 asked me to k 歌﹗We went to K Box which is one of the big players locally. But the price is forever expensive. We sang about 4 hours, 2 drinks each and unlimited refilled of nuts. This costs us about $32 per person! Since it is once in a blue moon, so I still can accept.

Dinner & Dance 沒有多收穫

This year my company dinner & dance I brought home less things compared to last year. Last year, I managed to win 2 awards. 1 is personal and another is group award for my performance in company. Then I won a Samsung mp3 player in lucky draw. But this year, I only managed to win a group award. 最遺憾 is I did not win any lucky draw! This year 獎品 very 豐富﹗Got iPhone, iPod Nano, iTouch, Netbook, 37" Lcd TV, PSP, etc.. Hope to be luckier next year!

Suspect X 容疑者Xの献身: 故事慢長

I always love Japanese detective story. They are so creative and interesting. So when I heard that this show is about how Physics or Maths is used for the killing, I am very excited and imagine a psycho killer goes about killing people using Physics or Maths theory. But I am very wrong.

The story talks about how one murder took place and how it actually happened which a tiny bit related to Maths philosophy. If you thinking of 金田一 kind of story, forget it. The killer is already known and just that how the actual murder plot is unknown. So the whole movie moves extremely slow. The interesting part has to be until the last part the whole thing uncovers and 福山雅治 spills his 推理, then you linked up everything. Other than that, there are not much 高潮。一個亮點 is 堤真一。I like the way he portrays the Maths genius in the movie. Suspect X 容疑者Xの献身 supposed to be a nice show but the way it is told make the movie very bored.

七色 Rainbow!

After days of hot spell, it finally rains and brings the end to the weeks of hot weather! This time it rains heavily!! Raining is nothing special. The special thing is that there is a rainbow after the rain! Haha. Ok, 彩虹沒什麼好稀奇的。But just that I have not seen rainbow for quite a long time. It always excite me. 呵呵﹗In fact, there are many people talking about it and this goes on our national news as well! 你說呢?

我的新玩具﹕A New Computer

Today I finally got my new computer up and running. I went to Sim Lim Square to source for my parts. I have done my homework and wanted to get from a shop called PC Themes as it is rather cheap and people recommend. But I went there at around 5.30pm. They said I could not get it today if I ask them to assemble. There are also many parts I want not available! 好事多磨﹗Luckily, I got plan B. I went to Fuwell. They said I can get it today within 45 mins and all the parts I want have stocks! Hurray! Total I spent $1220 on my 新玩具。Below is the specs:

Outlander: 故事老套

Oscars fever is on and all cinemas are screening Oscars shows. Hence, I basically got nothing to watch. But since I got 1 movie voucher to use and which is due soon, I choose Outlander. This show is a pop corn show. The story is very predictable and the special effects are none the wiser. There are no big names in the casts as well.

故事講述 one human from a more advance planets crashed landed on Earth which is now still in Lord of the ring era. He brought along an alien with him and this monter start destroying the village. So he has to team up with the human from Earth to kill the alien with their primitive weapons. The story flow is still considered good. You can catch it if you got nothing on.

My Computer 三周年

三年前的今天 I went to get my current computer. I still remember I went to get it with my cousin and we spent 1 whole day trying to solve some problems while assembling it. 天下無不散之宴席﹗My computer has failed me. So I guess it is time to say goodbye and move on. I hope to get a new one by this weekend. 現任電腦﹐永別了﹗

天氣 Very Hot!

Recently, it is very hot in Singapore as it has not been raining for weeks! The temperature can goes up to 35 degree Celsius. But it not suppose to be this hot during this time. The grasses have died and many small bushes fire had happened throughout the island! This is the first time I saw grass patches of a rather big scale turns yellow. I hope it will rain soon.

有朋自遠方來﹗Again..

My US friend came to Singapore again for his another interview. But this time round he is not as rush as last time. So he did have time to have a nice meal with me. We went to a Sze Chuan style restaurant in Chinatown - 川苑酒家。According to him, he said it is very 正宗﹗We ordered quite a lot of food but got one caught my eyes and taste bud. It is called 蒜泥白肉。The cucumber and the pork belly are put together and hang on a basket. The bottom has the 麻辣 sauce. It looks and tastes great!! A very nice and hearty meal.

Computer LAN Card 找不到

My home computer recently goes crazy. I was surfing the internet one day and it suddenly told me it could not local my 網卡﹗So I could not access the internet for days. I try many ways but my motherboard just could not recognize my LAN card. I am quite certain my motherboard 有問題﹗It is barely 3 years! So I guess it is time to 破財消災﹗

我在 Kukup 與你拜年

大年初一和初二 usually I will not be in Singapore. This year is the same. I went to nearby country to celebrate the Lunar New Year. This time round I went to Kukup. It is about 1 hour plus ride from the 2nd link. The last time I visited this fishing village is more than 5 years back. If you want to know how Kukup looks like now, come back soon as I will talk more in my upcoming thread.

赤壁：决战天下 - Red Cliff II: 幽默不再﹐沉悶有點

赤壁：决战天下 is a 大製作 many Asians are looking forward. After the rather nice first part last year, many are looking forward to the actual 赤壁之戰。However, 期望越高﹐失望越高。This time you will not see corny dialogue, which in my opinions, lift up the show a bit. The nice fighting scenes in Red Cliff I are also gone. What is left over is huge bombing and fire scenes. But luckily, they did show some 三十六計。I have not read 三國誌 or 三國演義。So I do not have 歷史的包袱。Those who had said the whole show distorted the truth. So it depends on which category of people you are in. Overall, this show is a bit too draggy at the front part. The saving grace will be when the actual battle begins which is much later part of the show.

Surprise! 有朋自遠方來﹗

I have a former classmate, Mr Q, came back from US to visit me. I was pleasantly surprise as he did not inform me before hand. The purpose for him is to attend a job interview in a local university. Mr Q 又聰明又本事﹗So I have full confidence in him.

He has not changed much since he left Singapore about 2 years ago. Does not really aged much and did not get fat either which is surprising. 呵呵﹗

He invited me for a dinner at Raffles Marina Country Club. This place is located quite near to Tuas 2nd link. The eating place is outdoor and has a nice view! 無敵海景﹗It is very windy as well. I ordered a big prawn noodles and the prawns are really huge!

But too bad. This time he 來去匆匆。I did not get a chance to really chat with him. But I heard he will be back soon in Feb for another job interview. Mr Q, this time 你絕對跑不了﹗

我愛 Kuala Lumpur - 行篇 Day 4

Time flies when you are having fun! It is the last day of my KL trip.

After the wonderful breakfast, I went back to hotel room to pack my 戰利品﹗呵呵﹗We rest till noon and checkout. Our flight is in the evening, so we leave our baggage at the hotel for safekeeping and went to KLCC Suira to meet a KL 網友 - Lock同學. This is the second time I met him this year. The first time is in March.


Lock同學 drove to KLCC Suria to find me. The parking there is expensive! Just RM4 for a very short time! He actually very busy these few days as he need to attend to another group of friends. So I am quite embarrassed for him to rush down to meet me after his commitment. He brought us to Port Klang 巴生港 for 肉骨茶。This place suppose to be the 發源地。Coming to this place is not easy. If he did not bring us, it is quite difficult for me to come by my own. Also, we need to pass by many tolls! I really quite 不好意思 to make him 破費﹗So Lock同學 plase come and find me soon so I can 補償 you. 呵呵﹗


As the time is still young, we drove back to KLCC Suria again. We went to shop a while before having a tea break. So we chat with Lock同學 at the food court until it is time for us to say goodbye.

Then, we took the buggy ride back to the hotel to claim our baggage. We took a cab to KL Sentral with a flat fee of RM35. Again, we took the Airport Express again to KLIA and need to take Areo train in KLIA again back to the terminal for checking in. We shopped around after checking in. Later, we found that the plane is again delayed for 30 mins! But finally, it all ends well. This summaries the travelling part.

不過﹐this is not the end. I will post more on the food we eat, the hotel we stay and the shopping areas we visited. 好戲在後頭。

我愛 Kuala Lumpur - 行篇 Day 3

If you want to have a bird's eye view of Kuala Lumpur, where will you go? The first place that came to my mind is 雙峰塔。But we did not manage to go cos you need to go very early to get the free tickets. Waking up at 7am to queue for tickets is simply too much for us. 呵呵﹗So instead we went to Menara Kuala Lumpur 也就是人們俗稱的 KL Tower.

We took a metered taxi to KL Tower as it is not easy to reach there by bus, walking or train. The moment you get on to the taxi, it will cost you RM6. KL Tower is pretty near to my hotel. We only took about 10 mins to reach there and costs us RM11.60.

There is a package that throws in a winter park entrance fee, a mini zoo entrance fee and a F1 simulator entrance fee in additional to the KL Tower entrance fee. There is a free bottle water in a shape of KL Tower too!

Taking a lift up to the viewing gallery which is 250m is very fast. I think we reach in less than 15 sec. When you are on top, 吉隆坡風景盡收眼底﹗


After the breathtaking views, we went to the winter park and the mini zoo. The zoo has many types of snakes and spiders. But I find one of the animals very interesting. It looks cute and out of this world. But I do not know what it is. I think it is one of the fox family.


Then, we took a cab to Berjaya Times Square for lunch and shopping. Buying a few items and some coffee later, we took a RM10 cab to Petaling Street 茨廠街。This is supposed to be KL 唐人街。This place sells many 冒牌貨。LV, Gucci, etc.. You name it, they have it. But 這些“名牌”包包 are also not cheap. Asking price is about RM200. So remember to 殺價 for at least 50% of the asking price.


Finally, we settle our dinner here at some rather famous restaurant before 打倒回府。

我愛 Kuala Lumpur - 行篇 Day 2

Today wake up bright and shine at around 8am. After washing up, we went to have our breakfast at the hotel. It is good that there is newspaper. So I can read while enjoying the good food.


After the breakfast, we decided to take a train to 傳說中的金三角 to shop. On our way, we saw the University of Kuala Lumpur. However, it does not look like a campus but more like a shopping mall. 呵呵﹗

I happened to pass by Hard Rock Cafe and decided to see if anything to buy.


Then, we headed to Pavilion Shopping mall to walk walk. 走了﹐累了。It is another round of eat and drinking!


About evening time, we decided to catch a cab back to our Hotel. Most cab drivers will not on the meter, so you need to negotiate a price before boarding. He settled for RM10 to our hotel which I feel is ok. Guess what? Actually Pavilion is quite close to our hotel. Haha. About 5 mins drive, we reached our hotel. But again, I wun think of walking as we have too many things with us after all the shopping.

After throwing our stuffs in the hotel room, we went to KLCC Suria for our dinner. Then, again we stroll back to our hotel after the good food.
